The Participatory Culture Foundation is looking for world-class talent to join our organization. We are a new non-profit organization and are building a small, focused team that will rival the talent and quality of any for-profit software company. (Are you doing amazing work for a company that you don't really believe in? Quit your job and work for us. Seriously.) We are based in Worcester, MA but we work with individuals around the world. You don't need to be local, but if you are, even better.
As we launch and extend our internet TV platform, we will need to fill the positions below as soon as possible. If you're interested, please be in touch right away; we don't need fancy resumes, just good, clear info about what you've been up to. Women and people of color are strongly encouraged to apply.
We are a new organization with about 8 employees and the biggest missing piece in our puzzle is a designer who can bring all of our work together. We are looking to hire a permanent designer to create web designs, graphics, logos, and application interfaces, though we are also interested in contract work. We want to find someone who is smart and flexible and has a good sense of style. Design we like includes: this, this, this, this, and this (also this). In general, we care a lot about details and usability and are striving to make websites and applications that are world-class in look and feel. If you are an ambitious designer and want to kick ass in the name of good, please send us your portfolio.
We are expecting to hire for a half or full-time position, but if you'd like to apply for a long-term consulting contract, we would consider that as well. Please let us know what kind of arrangement works best for you.
Apply Now: Send a portfolio (link(s) or pdf is fine) and a short note about why you're interested in this job to npr[at]pculture.org. Put "Graphic Designer / Interface Designer" in the message subject.
We need a full-time developer to code database-driven, interactive websites that are high quality, efficient, and user focused. This is not just website programming, this is real web-application development.
We need someone who excels at PHP/MySQL, Javascript, and AJAX-y type things. You must have a computer science background as well as experience doing work of this kind. You must also be able to work well with other people's code. Experience coding desktop applications is also helpful as much of what you'll be working on is client-web interaction.
Apply Now: We're hoping to fill this position very soon. Send a casual resume and a note about why you're interested in this job to npr[at]pculture.org. Put "Web Software Engineer" in the message subject.
